What is the “DCCC”?
The DCCC, pronounced “D-triple-C,” is the leadership body of the San Francisco Democratic Party. The DCCC is comprised of 24 people, 10 on the westside of San Francisco (AD19), and 14 on the east side (AD17). DCCC members are elected by registered Democrats in San Francisco every 4 years, with additional ex-officio members. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is an example of an ex-officio member.
What does the DCCC do?
Why should you care about the DCCC?
The DCCC is one of the most powerful organizations most San Franciscans have never heard of. Why? Because the DCCC endorsements influence how the 317,000 registered San Francisco Democrats vote in our elections.
Once the DCCC endorses a ballot measure or candidate, the DCCC spends resources promoting its endorsements with mailings and other tactics. DCCC endorsements have the power to swing close elections – elections that have consequences on everyday San Franciscans.
